very warm welcome to the Angmering Village Life
website. This totally independent site serves only the parish of Angmering, and
will be of interest to all people who live in the parish, those whose ancestors
came from the village, and visitors. It contains news, photos of the parish,
forthcoming events, history, village organisations, traders, maps, etc.

The village of Angmering
is located approx. 2 miles north of the English Channel (La Manche) in the
county of West Sussex, England. It is situated roughly halfway between the
towns of Worthing and Littlehampton which are both about 4 miles to the east
and west respectively. The parish is about seven miles long (from north to
south) and two miles wide and covers some 1900 hectares. Its roots stretch back
to the Bronze Age and there is the site of a substantial Roman Villa. In 1976,
Angmering was twinned with the Normandy town of
Ouistreham-Riva-Bella.
A principal purpose of this website is to create a hub providing useful public information, historic data, and links to the many excellent websites which deliver services to residents of Angmering.
The site's "Village History Centre" contains over 100 pages of resources and articles, a massive amount of material which will assist local and family history researchers, and hopefully the children of our village.
